PHOENIX/PORTRAIT PAINTING

It has been a pleasant weekend. Today I wanted to use the blocking technique on a painting. I had not done it before but I wanted to create an abstract portrait with a little smooth elements and a little messy elements as well.

Somewhere along the way, I had decided this was the ugliest painting ever and wanted to start all over. Had to fight my desire to stop. I really like the finished look.
