LEO|Commission|Animal Print

Hello there!

I've spent the last week and a half working on a personal project that has consumed the majority of my time. I wake up thinking about it, go to bed thinking about it, and think about it all day(not too far from the truth). One might think that I'm working on something amazing, but I'm not. It's just a new challenge for me to take on.

I was going through my archives and came across this commission I did in exchange for a 'pfp', which I didn't care for because it's a meme that has no personal value to me. Just stating the facts as they are. So, why did I spend valuable time giving someone the copyrights to my art and commercialization and receiving something I didn't want in return? Let's start with the commission.

It was a fine day when I received a private mil inviting me to participate in a collaboration with the Leoverse project. As expected, I was curious. The instructions was;

we send you a leo and then you recreate it in your own style. please can[move] away from the design of the original cryptoleo. make leo himself as much in your style as possible. Just remember key components of the leo meme, theme of the leo itself, hand, drink/prop, mouth, eyebrows but in your style.

So I got to work, which took longer than I expected because I had to figure out and design what would work for this(below).

The thinking part is difficult part but once you have an idea set, you start fleshing it out until you have a line work. Everything else is well, familiar territory. That is not to say rendering is easy because no matter how perfect your line work is, if you can't translate that into a finished piece, it's as good as nothing.

And this is the final work. Simple yet checking all the right boxes. A little too rigid but like I said, I wasn't feeling the meme so I probably wasn't the best choice. Still it seemed like a fun thing to do. Yes, that the answer to the question above. I did this commission for fun and I am grad I did because if I didn't do this.

I would not have done this leopard print
