I was having a conversation yesterday with some strangers at ATM triggered by someone trying to cut the line. This had us discussing the concept of universal morality, generally acceptable and unacceptable behaviours.... That sort of thing.
I believe that regardless of where we all come from and how we were raised, there are certain things that are we can agree is undeniably right. At least I hope there are. An instance would be treating people with kindness. I don't think anyone would ever complain about being recipients of genuine kindness. Have you ever met someone like that?
Someone mentioned masochists who would prefer hardship, but, I did say you have to be far up there to dislike a small act of kindness e.g someone helps you with a door seeing you had your hands full. Same would apply with respect and gratitude and I am sure there are more.
KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU, 2022
So we came to a conclusion if you appreciate being treated with respect and kindness, it means you should be willing to offer same. What do you think?
